Passwords and account recovery
How to change your password from Settings, reset a forgotten password from the login page, and where to see session information.
Changing your password (while signed in)
- Open Settings and go to the Security tab.
- In the Change Password card, enter your Current Password.
- Enter a New Password (minimum 8 characters) and repeat it in Confirm New Password.
- Click Update Password.
Forgot your password?
If you cannot sign in:
- On the login page, click the "Forgot password?" link next to the password field.
- Enter your email address and click "Send reset link".
- Check your inbox and open the reset link.
- On the reset page, enter a new password (minimum 8 characters), confirm it, and click "Reset password".
- Return to the login page and sign in with your new password.
Both password fields on the reset page have an eye icon to show or hide what you typed.
Other ways to sign in
The login page also offers "Continue with Google" and "Continue with GitHub". If you originally signed up with one of these, you can keep using it instead of a password. There is also a "Remember me" checkbox to stay signed in on that browser.
If you have two-factor authentication enabled, you will be asked for a verification code after your password. See Two-factor authentication (2FA), including how to use a recovery code if you lost access to your second factor.
Session information
At the bottom of the Security tab, the Session Information card shows:
- Last Login: when your account last signed in. If this looks unfamiliar, change your password right away and consider enabling 2FA.
- Account Created: the date your account was created.
Good practices
- Use a password of at least 8 characters that you do not reuse elsewhere; the app enforces the minimum length.
- Enable a second factor on the same Security tab so a leaked password alone is not enough to get in.
- Keep your recovery codes stored safely; each one works once.
