Inviting workspace members

How to create a workspace, invite team members by email, manage the member list, and customize the workspace logo and brand color.

Where to find workspaces

Workspaces live in Settings, on the Workspaces tab. A workspace lets you invite team members who can manage servers, projects, and instances on your behalf. Team workspaces are available on Pro and Enterprise plans. If your plan does not include workspace members, the tab shows an upgrade notice that links to your Billing page.

Creating a workspace

If you do not have a workspace yet:

  1. Open Settings and go to the Workspaces tab.
  2. Enter a Workspace Name (for example, "My Team").
  3. Enter a Slug. This becomes your workspace address at app.cicdoo.com/your-slug. Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only.
  4. Click Create Workspace.

Inviting a member

  1. On the Workspaces tab, scroll to the Members card.
  2. Under "Invite a team member", type your colleague's email address.
  3. Click Invite.

The Members card shows a count of current members. Each member row shows their name, email, and a badge if they are the Owner or an Admin. If your plan limits workspace members, the card shows how many member seats you have used (for example, "2/3 members used on your plan"). When you reach the limit, an "Upgrade for more" link takes you to the Billing page. Exact member limits per plan are shown on your Billing page and on the pricing page at cicdoo.com.

Managing members

Next to each member (other than yourself) there are two icons:

  • A shield icon opens the permissions modal, where you set the member's role and what they can access. See Member permissions and resource access.
  • A remove icon (person with a minus) removes the member from the workspace.

Workspace logo and brand color

You can brand your workspace from the same tab:

  • Workspace Logo: click Upload (or Change) and pick an image. PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP, or GIF up to 5 MB. Use Remove to go back to no logo.
  • Brand Color: pick a primary color from the swatches (red, orange, amber, emerald, teal, cyan, blue, indigo, violet, purple, pink, rose, or slate). Leave it on the default for the standard pink.

If a member cannot see a resource after being invited, see A member cannot see or use a resource. For background on how workspaces work, see Workspaces and team collaboration.

If you get stuck, open a support ticket from the Tickets page or the chat widget.
